What were the key milestones and successes for your company in 2024?
It has been a big year for Playbook Fusion, with plenty of milestones. A key moment was debuting the business in June and sharing our vision with the industry.
As our name suggests, our games are a fusion of sports video/mobile games and gambling, with this collision of worlds creating an entirely new category of content for operators to offer to players.
To create these games, we have built a strong team with expertise on both sides (gaming and gambling). This includes veteran video game designer Santiago Jaramillo and innovative CPO Jason Bradbury.
Since launching the studio, we’ve been hard at work creating our first title, Playbook Football, which will debut early next year at ICE, and we’ve recently signed our first big partnership with Twenty First Group, giving us exclusive access to its football data.
What were the biggest challenges your company faced this year, and how did you successfully navigate them?
Launching a start-up is all about spinning plates, and this can be challenging at times. As the founder and CEO, I have to wear many different hats and prioritise where I focus my attention.
This is why it’s been important to find the right partners across core areas of the business such as technology, commercial and compliance, and to also build a solid, talented and ambitious team.
This proved especially important when locking in the design and strategy for our first title, which will announce Playbook Fusion’s arrival as a pioneering studio here to change the game and disrupt the traditional sports betting and virtual sports markets.
Whether we’ve successfully navigated that challenge will soon become apparent when Playbook Football hits game lobbies but we are quietly confident it will hit the mark with players.
