BETER, a leading provider of betting content and data, has released a report highlighting a significant rise in engagement with its ESportsBattle eFootball product during the Euro 2024 and Copa America tournaments.
The findings show a notable shift toward fast, 24/7 betting content, as players increasingly seek quick, action-packed wagers.
The report, Betting on eFootball during Euro and Copa America 2024, reveals that interest in BETER’s eFootball offerings surged throughout both tournaments, with unique bettors up by 11.4%, the total number of bets up by 12.8%, and turnover up by 13.4% across operator platforms featuring ESportsBattle content.
Demand for BETER’s eFootball peaked after the tournaments concluded, with the highest levels of engagement recorded on July 15 and 16—right after the “Super Sunday” finale on July 14. This trend was observed during Euro 2024, where interest spiked on non-match days, underlining a preference for accessible, round-the-clock football content.
The report further indicates that even on match days, the evening period immediately after live games saw the highest engagement, with a 23% increase in average turnover from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., which remained strong into the late evening.
In terms of betting types, Totals was the most popular choice, accounting for 55% of betting volume, followed by Result Three Way at 23%, and Next Goal, which saw a notable 20% increase in volume.
BETER’s eFootball offerings feature three formats: the fast-paced Volta mode, lasting six minutes, along with more traditional 2x4 and 2x6-minute match formats. The 2x4 format proved the most popular, with turnover increasing by 14.7%, followed by 2x6 at 15.2%, while Volta also saw a 9.4% rise in both bets and turnover.
These trends highlight a shift toward fast-paced betting options, meeting players' preference for accessible and quick resolutions. According to BETER, this shift has solidified eFootball as a must-have offering, catering to bettors looking for continuous sports content, particularly during periods without live matches.
BETER’s ESportsBattle tournaments set a high standard for esports betting, hosting over 35,000 events monthly across top categories like eFootball, eBasketball, eHockey, and CS2, with up to 50 betting markets per event and live streaming available year-round. The product also maintains an average margin of over 7.5% for operators.
George Arabatlian, Head of Account Management at BETER, commented on the findings: “This report underscores a significant shift in player behavior: bettors are eager to engage with football-related content, even in the absence of live matches. This is where our 24/7 eFootball product truly shines, providing continuous entertainment and wagering opportunities.”
He added, “The data also highlights a growing trend toward fast, dynamic betting experiences, which resolve quickly and keep players engaged. BETER has become a leader in delivering this type of content, and we are excited to partner with more operators to provide their players with round-the-clock access to our cutting-edge ESportsBattle tournaments.”
As BETER continues to meet demand for fast, flexible betting, its 24/7 eFootball offering is poised to remain a key engagement tool in the evolving esports betting landscape.
