In a significant move, Tecnología en Entretenimiento Caliplay, known in the market as Caliente Interactive, has filed legal proceedings against Playtech plc and its subsidiaries, Playtech Malta, and Playtech Software Limited in the 46th Civil Court of Mexico City.
The legal action aims to nullify various contractual agreements, directly impacting Caliplay's regulated business in Mexico.
This legal step has been taken to maintain transparency within Caliplay's customer and business partner network. The Mexican Court, acknowledging the case's jurisdiction, has issued interim orders, including the suspension of key rights held by Playtech under the agreements.
Despite this suspension, Playtech has been directed to continue providing essential software and services to Caliplay until the case reaches its final resolution.
Caliplay emphasizes its commitment to a swift resolution and remains open to dialogue with Playtech for potential dispute resolution.
The case involves not only Playtech but also Mr. Ron Yosef Samoaloff and the Public Property and Trade Register of the State of Baja California as respondents, making it a complex legal matter that will undoubtedly unfold in the coming days.
