eCOGRA has received authorisation from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) to operate as a Certification Laboratory in Peru, expanding its global reach and offering a comprehensive suite of iGaming testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services.
This milestone follows closely on the heels of eCOGRA's recent expansion efforts, including the establishment of a new office in Colorado and the appointment of key team members in the United States.
With this latest approval, eCOGRA now operates in 38 global jurisdictions, positioning the company to serve operators and suppliers in compliance with Peruvian regulations.
According to the new regulations, all online gambling and sports betting operators must submit their applications to MINCETUR by March 13, 2024, to obtain authorisation to operate in Peru.
Commenting on the regulatory developments, Juan Carlos Mathews, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, highlighted the significance of regulating online gambling in the country, stating, "Peru becomes the third country in South America to regulate this important economic activity, following Colombia and Argentina."
Bradley Khoury, Chief Technical Officer of eCOGRA, expressed excitement about the approval, stating, "We are thrilled to receive the green light to offer our services in Peru. This approval not only recognises our unwavering dedication to the highest industry standards but also reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the global online gaming sector."
eCOGRA's expansion into Peru aligns with its broader mission to collaborate with regulatory bodies worldwide, promoting best practices and ensuring player protection.
The company looks forward to partnering with Peruvian operators and software providers to uphold the integrity and fairness of online gambling offerings in the country.
