Greentube, the esteemed NOVOMATIC Digital Gaming and Entertainment division, is celebrating a significant achievement as its fast-paced esports game, Ski Challenge, surpasses 20 million races and amasses over 600,000 downloads within a year of its official launch.
Initially published in 1998, Ski Challenge was Greentube’s maiden game, and the modern version, available on both iOS and Android, has gained immense popularity.
In this adrenaline-fueled game, players represent their favorite teams and nations, engaging in fierce head-to-head competitions in meticulously organized tournaments featuring real-money prizes. The game showcases seven renowned downhill skiing tracks, including iconic locations like Zermatt, Bormio, and Zauchensee.
Players can accumulate skill points by winning competitive races, allowing them to ascend the ranks in categories such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Master. The thrill of competition extends to time-based leaderboards, where players can etch their names in history as the ultimate skiers.
Ski Challenge’s authenticity is enhanced through collaboration with three of the world's leading ski associations: Austria’s ÖSV, Swiss-Ski, and Deutscher Skiverband. This partnership has undoubtedly contributed to the game’s immense success over the past year.
Michael Bauer, Greentube’s CFO/CGO, expressed his enthusiasm: “Reaching 20 million races and 600,000 downloads is a testament to our team’s dedication and the game’s compelling gameplay. We are grateful for the collaborative efforts that made this milestone possible. Ski Challenge’s future looks promising, and we are excited to see it continue to grow.”
This milestone marks a triumphant chapter for Greentube, reinforcing its commitment to delivering engaging and immersive gaming experiences to players worldwide.
