Kristian Nylen, the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kambi, a prominent sportsbook supplier, has informed the company's Board about his decision to step down from his current role later this year. This move is set to occur once a successor is appointed.
Nylén, who co-founded Kambi alongside Anders Strom in 2010, played a pivotal role in establishing the company as a leading sportsbook provider in the industry. The decision to resign stems from Nylen's strong desire to dedicate more time to his growing family.
In his statement, Nylen expressed the difficulty of the decision, stating, “The decision to stand down from my position at Kambi after so many enjoyable years has been difficult, but one predominantly driven by my desire to spend more time with my young and growing family.”
It is Nylen's intention to officially step down after the appointment of his successor, ensuring a smooth transition for Kambi.
The announcement follows a prior communication from Kambi indicating that Nylen had been nominated to serve on Kambi's board after the Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 2024.
Nylen commented on his nomination, saying, “As co-founder, my heart and professional allegiance remain firmly with Kambi, therefore, I am honoured to accept the Nomination Committee’s proposal to join the Board."
He added, "Pending my election at the forthcoming AGM, I look forward to focusing more intensively on the strategic aspects of our business. However, my immediate attention remains on driving Kambi forward in my current role.”
Nylen's departure marks the end of an era at Kambi, and the company will be undergoing a significant leadership change as it looks to the future.
