In a recent development, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has made the decision to suspend the authorisation granted to Rush Gaming Ltd, the holder of MGA licence MGA/B2C/701/2019, effective from January 9, 2024.
This decision falls under regulation 8 (1) (f) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations (S.L. 583.06).
As a result of this suspension, Rush Gaming Ltd, referred to as the 'Authorised Person,' is no longer permitted to conduct any gaming operations. However, the company is obligated to maintain and grant access to all registered players to their player accounts.
Additionally, Rush Gaming Ltd must initiate the process of refunding all funds held in players' accounts, aligning with the applicable laws.
The regulatory action is taken based on reg. 9 (1) (c) of the Regulations, as the Authorised Person has failed to adhere to one or more obligations outlined in any regulatory instrument or other relevant Maltese laws.
The decision made by the Malta Gaming Authority is subject to potential appeal, as outlined in article 43 of the Gaming Act (Chapter 583 of the Laws of Malta).
This move by the MGA emphasizes the regulatory body's commitment to ensuring compliance within the iGaming industry and maintaining the integrity of the gaming environment.
The suspension serves as a reminder to operators regarding the importance of adhering to regulatory obligations to maintain a trustworthy and responsible gaming ecosystem.
