Sportradar, a leading provider of sports data and technology solutions, has announced the appointment of Gerard Griffin as its new chief financial officer.
In his new role, Griffin will be responsible for overseeing the group’s accounting, finance, and investor relations, reporting directly to Sportradar's chief executive and founder Carsten Koerl.
Griffin, who will assume his position on May 9, is replacing Uli Harmuth, who had been serving as the group’s interim CFO. Harmuth will continue in his role as chief strategy officer.
Before joining Sportradar, Griffin was the CFO of Zynga between 2016 and 2022. Prior to this, he spent over three-and-a-half years as senior vice president for finance at Electronic Arts, where he also served as vice president and CFO of international and global publishing. Griffin has also held senior positions in Primedia, Phase2Media, NBC in Europe, and KPMG.
“I am excited to join Sportradar, which has established itself as the leader in the sports technology industry," said Griffin.
"The team’s excellent track record of innovation and growth well positions the company to capitalize on the exciting opportunities ahead. I look forward to working closely with Carsten and the rest of the Sportradar team to deliver exceptional value for clients, partners, and shareholders."
Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar, said, “As a highly accomplished CFO with relevant experience across several sectors, we are confident that Gerard will bring discipline and strategic focus as we continue to drive growth and profitability around the world.
Gerard will be a strong addition to the management team as we deliver results and continue to position Sportradar as the leading sports technology business globally. I also would like to thank Uli Harmuth for stepping in as interim CFO.
His partnership and dedication in this role have been tremendously appreciated."
